BSM Senior Named McDonald’s All American
Olivia Olson ’24 was named to this year’s class of McDonald’s All Americans for her outstanding achievements in girls’ basketball. Olson is Benilde-St. Margaret’s first McDonald’s All American and as a member of the girls’ basketball team at BSM, recently became the first female student athlete at BSM to record her 2,000th point scored.
Red Knights Capture Back-to-Back State Titles
The BSM girls basketball team won the 2024 Class AAA State Championship on Saturday, Mar. 16, 2023, defeating the DeLaSalle Islanders 81 – 58 at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus. The championship is the girls’ second in two years, and fourth overall (2024, 2023, 2010, and 2006). The championship is also BSM’s 49th team state title in school history.

CHICAGO (March 14, 2024) — In its 39th year of honoring the nation’s most elite high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Olivia Olson of Benilde-St. Margaret’s is the 2023-24 Gatorade Minnesota Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Olson is the first Gatorade Minnesota Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from
Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
BSM Girls Look to Defend State Title
Congratulations to the BSM girls’ basketball team which qualified for the 2024 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Girls Basketball Tournament by defeating Delano 83-64 in Section finals on Thursday, Mar. 7.

For decades, the Christian Brothers Cup has been awarded annually to the winner of the girls basketball game between DeLaSalle and Benilde-St. Margaret’s. The game is typically played just before the holiday break so the traveling trophy can be enjoyed by players, family and community supporters.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s Olson Returns To Soccer and ‘The Family’
Olivia Olson is one of the best-known high school athletes in Minnesota, but not so much for soccer. But there she was, playing in goal for Benilde-St. Margaret’s on Friday in the Class 2A state championship game at U.S. Bank Stadium. She pitched a shutout as the Red Knights defeated defending champ Holy Angels 1-0.
